Project Design and Initiation
All change projects take place to solve a problem. It is vital that the problem is clearly defined and understood, the boundaries established and the appropriate change mechanism identified before any changes take place.
All aspects of the project organisation, plan and governance structure must be clearly set out and communicated. It sometimes surprises managers just how much attention to detail is required at this stage. The desire to get started can lead to missed critical details and poor quality delivery. Occasionally, detailing all the project activities may show that the project should not go ahead, so avoiding wasted money and resources. SfC provides advice and coaching to the managers responsible for the project to ensure a successful start.
Project Assurance
With the project under way, SfC will review the structure, approach, plan and governance, comparing them to adapted standard models, and advise on any discrepancies and issues that need to be addressed.
We can also act in a direct Project Assurance capacity, taking on this role for your project manager, offering advice and ensuring that the scheme follows appropriate governance procedures.
Project Management
SfC can take the on the role of project manager for you or set up and run the project office. An independent project manager can ask questions about matters that an internal job holder might not be able to. Without any personal connection to the organisation, we can exert more influence over the process than an existing member of staff might find possible.
We will provide coaching and support for your project manager. SfC can act as a point of reference, helping your managers develop personally, as well as delivering your project successfully.
Process Improvement
Where you are changing your ways of working, SfC can support the development of new policies and procedures, assessing and advising on process controls and performance reporting. We also provide coaching in adopting new ways of working.
